The main objective of the activity is to improve the response capacity on water rescue interventions, enhance the skills of the civil protection members for a more effective conduction of international disaster response operations, as well as provide with an in-depth knowledge of the roles and functions of national teams and members of the CP Modules. Moreover, the training will be an opportunity to discuss about past interventions, in particular those ones where specific expertise was required, and to identify lessons learnt and best practices. Most importantly, exercising and training together, particularly at regional level, will help plan and manage international intervention assistance when a disaster occurs.
Each national team will be composed of eleven members who will have to coordinate and work together as a multinational module requires. The training will be conducted under the auspices of the IPA FLOODS Consortium partner in charge, the Administration of the Republic of Slovenia for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief (URSZR), and with the support of experienced fire-fighters from the Italian Civil Protection Department (DPC) system.
