The grant contract of IPA FLOODS LOT 2 has been signed on July 2015 between the implementing Consortium and the EC DG ECHO and will run until January 2018. The grant, worth almost 4 million EURO, will aim at developing operational multinational Civil Protection Modules for High Capacity Pumping (HCP) and Flood Containment (FC) respectively, thus contributing to increasing beneficiaries’ disaster response preparedness and capability to operate in disaster assistance interventions both regionally and through the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
The main activities under LOT 2 will be structured in 5 working packages (WP) described as follows:
WP 1. Development of multinational Civil Protection Modules for High Capacity Pumping and Flood Containment involving all beneficiaries in line with EU framework and practices;
WP 2. Establishment of Standard Operating Procedures according to the EU Guidelines for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and based on the experience of existing EU (multinational) Civil Protection Modules;
WP 3. Development of border-crossing and Host Nation Support (HNS) protocols according to the EU Guidelines on Host Nation Support in order to ensure rapid and effective deployment of the Civil Protection Modules to the affected country;
WP 4. Organisation of training courses addressed to the staff of the multinational Civil Protection Modules;
WP 5. Organisation of a regional field exercise for the multinational Civil Protection Modules including the participation of Civil Protection Modules of the same type from the Participating States of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.
