The first workshop on the “Development of National Teams and Beneficiary Specific Documentation for High Capacity Pumping (HCP)  and Flood Containment (FC) modules” will be held in Bonn (Germany) from 26 to 28 January 2016, as part of a set of capacity building initiatives under Lot 2 dedicated to the development and operability of two multinational civil protection modules on floods prevention: Flood containment and High Capacity Pumping.

flood4The event is organized under the auspices of the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) and the Swedish Civil Contingencies  Agency (MSB) and targets 28 civil protection professionals coming from the beneficiaries of the Programme: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey.

 The workshop is focussed on national team’s concept and its main objective is to produce country specific documentation. The participants will be involved in group discussions and will work together with the trainers with the purpose of drafting handbooks and Standard Operating Procedures carefully looking at the specific context of each country concerned, and following the EU requirements specified by the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

The three days event is also aimed at reinforcing cooperation and preparedness in the field of civil protection in the Western Balkans region and Turkey, by giving the opportunity to local experts for networking and share information with key stakeholders and colleagues.
